Which version to download?

Demo and Full version

Demo and Full version software are the same download.

Demo version is time limited: you can access to bus communication only for 15 minutes for each session (just close the software and reopen to continue using it).

Full version require a USB Dongle hardware key to remove the time limitation.

In demo version, you can use the graphical inteface whitouh any time limitation (only interaction with bus are disabled)


Digital Supervision and Digital Hotel

Digital Supervision and Digital Hotel are the same download.

In the next chapter you will how to download the software.

To start

Download

You can download the Demo and the Full version from our site:

You have to register to the site before downloading (Fig 1)

(you can also register with your google account)

Unzip the downloaded file

Unzip the zip file (just downloaded) in c:\DDSuperV\

Now you can choose to use Digital Supervision or Digital Hotel


Click “c:\DDSuperV\DigitalSuperVision.exe” to start Digital Supervision

Click “c:\DDSuperV\DigitalHotel.exe” to start Digital Hotel

This is all you need to start the software.


All customizations can be performed successively through the graphical editor provided by the software .


Now you can configure your software using:

1 – Automatic import from ETS (see chapter : Import from ETS )

2 – Manual configuration (see chapter: Editor )


Installing drivers and firebird database (not needed for demo mode)

1. You need to install the Falcon driver to communicate with the KNX bus . This driver is located in the c:\DDSuperV\Driver . Double Click on FalconRuntime.msi and follow the instuction using the default settings, until the end of the installation


2. Only for Digital Hotel and if you using a USB cards programmer, you need to install the manufacturer's drivers.


3. You need to install Firebird version 2.0 database.

Double click on c:\DDSuperV\Driver\Firebird-2.0.7.13318_0_win32.exe, select your language, accept the license agreement, and follow the instuction using the default settings;

change only the "copy the client library firebird in the system folder" to YES.

Important Note : The correct operation is guaranteed with the installation of Firebird

version 2.0 (later versions not tested).

Settings

"Settings" button provides all the tools for configuring the software (Digital Supervision and  Digital Hotel)

After pressing “Setting” button, you will see the main menu:

In the " Project menu" you can: create a new project, open an existing project, back them a project, see the Debug interface, save a project, import from ets and view project information (telegram on the bus, etc...) .


Setting up communication Drivers (interface)

In menu Settings -> Supervision Configuration -> Configuration

click in tag Drivers:

Move from left to right the driver you want to activate and configure them pressing “...” in correspondence of each row.

KNX and USB card program - configuration Example


Nota: At this poiont you should have already installed Falcon Driver (if not, see the chapter:“Installing drivers and firebird database (not needed for demo mode)”


Now you need to properly configure your KNX interface (Serial, USB, EIBNet/IP.) .


Referring to Fig 5 (since now you have pressed: Setting -> Configuration -> Driver -> EIB/KNX Falcon) you have to press in each row:


-> “...” Fig 5.2 and set up you communication interface: KNX (Fig. 6) and USB Card

Programmer (Fig. 7):


1. select 'EIB/KNX Falcon" to communicate with the KNX bus (fig 5.1 and 5.2)

2. USB cards Programmer, if required in you Digital Hotel project (fig 5.3

Graphic Editor

Access to the Graphical Editor

The graphics editor tool makes it simple and intuitive to configure also complex projects.

This tool allows the insertion and editing of the graphical  objects connected to the phisical devices (for example using knx group address) , and allows the installer to customize the graphical interface depending on the type of plant .

You can access the graphical edito by pressing:     settings - > Editor

Features provided :

Create : Allows the creation of an object, selecteing  from a given list of components .

Modify : If you select an existing object , you can edit its parameters.

Delete : Delete the selected object and all associated parameters.

Copy , Paste, Cut : If you want to perform these operations on multiple objects , simply select them one by one while holding down the "Shift" key .

Pages : If activated , allows you to change the label of the menu items .

Drag to Insert: Button, Image : dragging them within a page automatically creates an object 'Button' or 'Image' and open interface 'Create New' with preset default parameters .

Save: after every change you need to save and restart the application for changes to take effect .




Common Object Properties

When you crerate or modify an existing one, you will see the parameter in Fig 9:

All objects have in common some parameters located in the upper part of the window of Fig 9, while the underlying tabs differ depending on the type of component selected.

Typology : a drop-down menu allows the selection of the type of Object, and depending on the choice will vary the  object Specific  parameters tabs

SubType: some objects have different characteristics depending on the type selected

Main Category : Select the first menu level in which to place the object, and normally It corresponds to the vertical menu

Secondary Category : Allows you to select the second menu level in which to place the object, and normally It corresponds to the orizontal menu

X , Y : Allows you to define the position of the object on the page, while the vertical and horizontal arrows to define the height and width

Label: Define the label displayed on the object


Keep Aspect Ratio : if the object contains an image will be kept to scale when you resize the object.

Visible : Makes the object visible or not

Include in auto rotation : If the automatic rotation is activated, the page containing the item in question is included in the rotation .

Exclude timer : The component is not listed in the list of timer .

Exclude from initial reading : It is not forced to read the address to which the object is linked when the application starts (useful to avoid false alarms of the alarm during startup of the software )

In the "Looking" tab You can define the size of the font of the displayed label

Example: how to create a new button / Image

Setting -> editor ->  Create

Select typology  'Image' and subTyp 'Standard'. You will see as in Fig. 10.

We can now customize our object:

Common parameters are:

Command/Address: address (for example knx group address)  from which you want to read a data, coming from the bus,  and display it inside the button .

Action: On/OFF, only OFF, only ON,  send value, do nothing, follow peressure

ON image : image used to indicate that the device and on.

OFF image : image used to indicate that the device and off .



In the "Looking" tab You can define the size of the font of the displayed label


The tab "Linked addresses " shows the list of all addresses that are connected to the object , that is, all addresses that may cause the change of state ( eg . a scenario ) .

ETS Import

From which ETS may I import?

You can Import from ETS3 and ETS5. If you  need other ETS version, you can convert you project in one of the supported ETS version.


ETS3 Import

1. Open ETS3 program and select the project to export.

2. load the project, select from the drop down "File" ->  “Print”.

3. Select the " Group addresses (Horizontal Details)  and print preview. If nothing is displayed

    verify you have an installed printer, or install a virtual printer such as PDFCreator (without a     printer, the report is blank)

4. In the preview page  press the left button in the top bar and then in the popup that appears select     " MS Excel 97-2000 ( Data only ) " and press " OK " .

5. On the next screen leave the default options and press the " OK "

6. Open the Excel file so generated with the "Open File " in Fig 11 and select any desired options in the appropriate tab.

7. Press one of the 'Import ... " to complete the import .

ETS5 Import

1. Open the project and select “print”, it will open a dedicated panel

2. Select ' Group addresses '

3. Enable the option Include objects

4. Open the menu 'Export' and select 'CSV' , save the file ; if the button is not active must

    waiting for the completion of the generation of the print

6. Open the CSV file so generated with the "Open File” and select any     desired options in the     appropriate tab.

7. Press one of the 'Import ... " to complete the import .

Backup

The module " Project Backup ", is accessible through the path " Settings -> Project -> Backup", and  allows you to save your project in a compressed file with the extension ".zip "

In the backup files are always included the files of the project (.esm, .esf , etc...) and images of the project . In addition to the previously defined files you can include : the database (not available in the demo version ), the entire folder containing the images , the folder containing the log and the file containing the error logging by selecting the appropriate box .

Pressing the "Create Backup", a compressed file is created . The file name and location are defined in the text box at the top of the window . To include the date and time of the backup in the file name , select the appropriate flag .

Note: The demo version does not allow you to back up the database , but only the project files and images.
